Enjoy seasonal flowers at home

It is said that the four seasons in Japan are beautiful. We think it is because the flowers color the seasons. We wanted to bring the beauty of flowers to you, so we made woodblock prints of flowers blooming in nature, using pigments.
■We offer the reprinted edition (Atozuri, Later edition) which print from the original carvings. (The Original print was produced in the 1960s.)
■Print bears Unsodo Publisher’s seal along with the carver and printer seals in the margin.

Kawarazaki Shodo (1889-1973)
Kawarazaki Shodo was born in Kyoto. He studied the art of yuzen dyeing, a traditional art craft in Kyoto, under the guidance of Yamamoto Sekkei. He also studied Japanese painting under Shibahara. Shodo is undoubtedly known for his botanical prints, which he produced post-war Japan in the 1950’s. These botanical prints were all published by Unsodo, where Shodo was working as Auditor. These botanical prints put Shodo on the map as an artist on a global scale and continue to be reprinted today.
